ABOUT

Shuswap Launch-a-Preneur has evolved! Our entrepreneurial program is now a coopetition-style program, shifting its focus from competition to collaboration and networking. Designed by Salmon Arm Economic Development Society, and Community Futures Shuswap, the program now aims to foster new business start-ups in the region by encouraging participants to support one another as they build their businesses from concept to launch.

Season 7 is structured as a six-week journey, with sessions held two evenings each week. During these sessions, participants come together to learn, collaborate, and develop their business plans, guided by experienced mentors from the local community who also lead practical workshops to enhance the curriculum. The program begins with a welcome evening, bringing together new and past participants, mentors, and community supporters to celebrate the start of the season and set the tone for a collaborative experience. Over the following six weeks, participants engage in hands-on workshops and receive invaluable mentorship, focusing on business plan development and essential entrepreneurial skills. The emphasis is on community over competition, with everyone encouraged to share ideas, offer feedback, and grow together.

After completing the workshop series, participants have the opportunity to pitch their business ideas and plans to a panel of judges in a private setting. This session is designed to provide constructive feedback, helping refine pitches and offering valuable insights tailored to each business. The program concludes with a community celebration, where those who have completed all requirements present their new businesses to the public, marking their achievements and fostering connections

Every participant who fulfills the program requirements receives a completion package to help launch their business, supporting them as they take the next steps toward opening their doors.
